John Baird, Leader of the Government of the house of Commons of Canada

 

캐나다 연방정부 36명의 장관 중 서열 10위인 존 베어드 하원 정부대표(정무장관 역할)

 

여야의원들과 모두 관계가 좋아 하퍼 수상에 의해 하원담당 정무장관으로 발탁되어 캐나다 정치의 가장 중요한 역할을 수행중인 존 베어드 대표가 토론토 욕 센터 지역의 비즈니스 맨들과 간담회를 가졌다.

첫 만남이었지만 특유의 유연한 매너와 유머를 사용하며 회의를  매끄럽게 진행하는 그는 회의 말미 러시아계, 유대계 등 타민족 틈에 한인으로 유일하게 참석한 필자에게 한국어로 "반갑습니다"라며 친밀감을 나타냈다.
